Jesus
Good Morning Team,
This past Sunday, people all over the world celebrated Easter.
But today, I’m not here to talk about religion. I want to talk about the man.
Because it’s hard to argue this… Jesus Christ is one of the most influential human beings to ever walk this earth.
And when you strip away religion and look purely at the man, his behavior, his discipline, his conviction, there are some powerful lessons in how to lead and how to live.
One of the things that inspires me the most… and challenges me the most… is this:
He never adjusted his message to be liked.
Think about that.
How many of us can say the same?
Today, we see leaders constantly shifting, there’s reel after reel of what they said five years ago versus what they’re saying now, all depending on public opinion.
But not him. He was consistent, even under pressure, even when it cost him everything.
He was disciplined, intentional, courageous and he led by serving.
Not exactly the traits we see everywhere today.
But here’s the thing I say all the time, we can’t control other leaders… but we can control ourselves.
And whether you realize it or not, you are a leader.
You lead your family, you lead in your community, some of you lead teams, offices or entire organizations.
So the question is… how are you leading?
One of my favorite quotes, one I actually have hanging on my wall is from Dr. Seuss:
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don’t mind and those who mind don’t matter.”
That’s how he lived. He didn’t tweak his message. He didn’t tone it down to make people comfortable.
He was consistent, honest, and courageous.
And because of that… people followed him, and they still do over 2,000 years later.
So here’s my challenge to you this week:
Lead like that!!!
Authentically you, Unapologetically you, with purpose, with intention, with courage.
Oorah!
